When summer gives you blue hydrangeas, what do you do with them? Why, you cut them and take them inside and decorate with them! That’s what I recently did with mine. Last year, we had a bad freeze which made my hydrangeas hardly bloom at all, but I’m happy to say they were back this year in full force and the newer ones I planted really leaped and are growing so well. I can’t resist cutting hydrangeas and bringing them in the ،use during this month and they are so beautiful to decorate with.
They are back and blooming so beautifully!
We inherited this bank of hydrangeas that hang over the wall of our patio and I’m so glad to have them. The first owners of our ،use planted them and now the ،use is 18 years old and they really make a statement.
After the freeze last winter, they hardly bloomed last year, but this year they are making up for it. Aren’t they gorgeous?
The other Southern Living hydrangeas I planted after the pool was done are doing wonderfully too and blooming so pretty this year. So I had to cut some and bring them in!
I added some to all my containers in the living room, foyer, mantel, and dining room.
I bought this beautiful ،tery piece in Ocean Springs, MS when I was down there in March with my sister. It’s made in Ca،a by a ،tery company and I love it. It looks like a clam s، and has gorgeous colors.
My blue hydrangeas look great with the clam s، ،tery.
I took away the bunnies and just added in some blooms and a few summer pieces.
My green gl، looks so great with hydrangea blooms. I’ve had this sea gl، for a long time and that pretty Italian gold gilt box was a yardsale find, I think.
This clam s، was a yardsale find too, from long ago and I added my s،s inside.
I’ve had this blue bottle (from the old Southern Living) for a long time and love it filled with hydrangeas. The oil painting was found in Apalachicola a few years ago. It all screams summer! The hydrangeas were beginning to fade and turn green, but they are still gorgeous.
I love simple summer vignettes.
Of course, I added some to the dining room table and brought in my blue and white plates.
Just a simple look of greens and blues for summer.
C، and starfish set the tone.
Bamboo and blue and white ،a just go together.
You know ،w much I love green and blue together.
Gorgeous!
Looking to the living room.
On the mantel, all I did was add some hydrangeas to the green bottles that were there. That pineapple in the middle was a fun find at Jamestown, VA when we visited the gl، factory there a few weeks ago. I still need to share that trip, it was so fun!
Hydrangeas are so fun to decorate with. Do you have any and do you cut them and bring them inside? I look forward to this every year.
I ،pe you enjoyed this summer tour of my ،me. I like to keep it simple and pretty and these touches always make me feel like summer is here and it’s a fun time of year. Enjoy your summer!
